I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

BEAUTIFUL morning!  I got up and ran with my FIL, Mac.  It was a GREAT recovery run.  I sure wish he could convince his son to run with me....

We are off to find ourselves an adventure ;)

I did this but I don't remember it at all.  oh wait, it was raining I think.  Just  a trickle :)

I ran on the canal trail instead of the road.  It was nice.  I think the uneven surface bugs my knees.

40 minute bike ride with Anna.  She had an asthma attack so we turned around.  Good thing she had her inhaler ;)

my chest hurts a bit today.  I've been noticing a bit of pain here and there for the past few days.  I am going to get a massage from Anna and try for 3 miles tonight.  I don't want a full on attack.

I took off and ran anyway.  i was getting all melancholy sitting around.  I need to get a life!

71 degrees in the shade.  I ran in the sun ;)

Bad news.  David fell from the roof last night and landed on the driveway.  He has a few serious fractures.  His calcaneus is pretty much shattered and his distal fibula is broken along with all of the ligaments that hold the ankle together.  He will have surgery to put it all back together hopefully next Friday.  We have to wait and see how it heals before they proceed.  He has to be totally off of the leg with the foot elevated until the surgery and for at least two weeks after.  Then he will be in a wheel chair or knee scooter for at least 12 weeks.  Then I guess some kind of boot or somehting.  They will screw the bones all back together and try to repair the joint as best they can.  They will use bone grafts to fill in the parts where the bone fragments are too small to salvage.  The doc is confident that they will get all of the ligaments back where they go.  This surgery is very much a "we'll just have to see how it goes" kind of thing.  He will hopefully be able to return to work in 3 weeks.

Please pray that it all goes perfectly well.  This type of surgery carries a high risk of bone infection along with many less than favorable outcomes.

Thought I'd better do some running.  Even a little will help with the stress.
