Short-Term Running Goals: Recover from being hit by a car while I was running in early October 2010. Be healed enough to run my planned races. I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born. I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband. My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

| | My SIL called me last night with some good information that I think will work for me. It's from Jeff Galloways running site. Here is the link. http://jeffgalloway.com/training/injuries.html I like that I can run/walk once the healing has begun. He recommends a wak/run ratio of 2:2. | | Yippe!!! It worked :) I walked for 2 min and then ran for 2. The knee was fine :) I walked at 3.5 and then ran at 5 and 6 alternately each running turn. I rolled and stretched and then ate breakfast :) I have been taking 300mg of advil 3x's a day since last friday. On thursday I will do 5 and sat 7, if all goes well. The run went by really fast :) I Need a buzzer or something to beep at me every 2 minutes. I missed one of the switch overs. Have a GREAT day!! |

| | 4 miles on the treadmill. The knee was bugging after 4. I think I will skip the elliptical next week and see if that is exacerbating the issue or if it is treadmill running. I do run weird on the treadmill. I run weird everywhere, but especially the treadmill ;) My poor daughters friend walked in with me on the treadmill in running shorts and a sports bra. She is probably scared for life! Poor thing... |

| | the walk run thing seems to be fitting the bill. I plan to run walk 8 miles on Sat and then 10 the next saturday. I have been foam rolling my right hip like crazy. My right hip seems to be the cause of my ITBS. that darn hip :p I am pretty happy that things are going well. It's hard to relax and just go with whatever happens. |
