Cut back week!  THANK HEAVENS!!!

This has been the most wonderful weekend.  I really needed it!

Now this is the exact week and mileage that I got injured last time.  I am feeling very confident that everything will be ok this time.  I have been taking my easy days, a lot easier.  I have been running flat routes at least half of my miles.  My legs have been very tired from all of the added biking.  My shoulders and neck have been sore from all of the plank, four limb staff, and arm balances.  I would really like a massage, but no luck.  I am still struggling with my hip flexors and my ITB.  I have found some stretches that seem to be helping.  The rolling pin and my TV remote also make great tools.

I hope that everyone has a great week and a wonderful recovery week for all you SGM runners :)  You inspire me!

Slow day.  Bad head ache day.  If I wasn't 100% sure I was not pregnant, I would swear I was pregnant.  The last three weeks have been a nightmare for my brain.  I thought I might DIE in the middle of a presentation this morning.  Oh well.  I haven't done any of the stuff listed below, but I am off to do the yoga, and then the running and biking as soon as the girls get home from school.

Running 3.6 miles, ave 11:39, 42:08 minutes.  First half :p, the second half was GREAT!!!  I am off to ride!!!

My head feels much better today.  I am trying to make sure that I drink plenty of water.  It's the only thing I can think of to try.  My run was sluggish and lead like.  It was 44 degrees and BEAUTIFUL!  I am off to buy milk and eggs and a birthday present.

Running 4.17 miles, 54:34 minutes, ave 13:04, best 8:17, Laps- 13:48 (with walking and stretching, 12:12, 13:21 (with a stretch stop), 13:07, 12:13 (.17)

Biking-  51 minutes = 4.25 running miles

Yoga, 60 minutes Asana practice.  Kind of boring.  I really could have used a vinyasa flow class today.  Oh well.

Alright, this weather is PERFECT!  It's a bit nippy to begin with, but after a warm up, it is UNREAL!  The temperature, the humidity, it just feels and smells GREAT!  My run was alright as far as my legs go.  I think I am going to stick with 25-30 miles a week until I get ten pounds off.  Then I'll add by 10% until I can feel myself at the injury threshold again.  I'm still going to bike up to the eight miles a day, converted.  Slow and steady wins the race!!  I am always telling my Weight Watcher members to never do anything one day that will compromise their ability to be active the next day. The goal is to run every day.  The goal is to be active EVERYDAY!!  It is far better to take it easy on an "off" day and still have legs for the next day, than to overdo and become injured.  I need to live what I preach everyday.  I want to get the miles up, but I NEVER want to be injured again ;)  I need to run everyday.  I need this.  "Hello, my name is Marion, and I am a run-a-holic!"

Running 4.22 miles, 54:31 minutes, Ave 12:55, best 9:33, Laps- 16:23 (.67), 12:01, 13:07(stopped for a stretch and to talk to the road worker guys), 11:54, 11:48(.56)

Biking  51 minutes = 4.25 running miles

Yoga- 60 minutes.  It was a "Yoga for Mountaineers" class.  The class really focused on the core and the hip flexors.  Boy, did I need that class!

Running - 5.56 miles   This was not a great run.  My legs felt horrible for the first half and then the rest of me followed suit!  I walked for a while and contemplated lying down on the road in the sun.  I tried running some more and felt faint.  I started to "pull to the left" as I was walking.  I wonder if I am getting an ear infection.  Kim ran home and got the car to pick me up.  We'd planned for 6, oh well.

I might go for a bike ride later if I perk up.  The laundry is done and the house is somewhat straightened, so I am just going to curl up on the couch and rest until the kids get out of school.  I need to get to the Good EArth for some food.  I am going to try Quinoa.  I hope I like it.  It's supposed to be so good for you- right Rachel?

Biking????  29 minutes =2.44 running miles ????

We did the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 4 mile walk/run today at Liberty Park.  Maurine, Kelli, Kylee, Lynn and I ran.  Anna, Ashley, Kate, Jill, Shay, Sarah, Brittany, Ashley, Leslie, Odee and Harold walked.  We had a GREAT time!  Kelli went to Sugar House park first for her warm-up and then eventually found us at Liberty Park!  Thank you Scott for directing her :)  It was great!  It was so fun to bring my girls and their friends.  I loved having my great friend Jill there and my wonderful running friends Kelli, Leslie and Maurine.  It was great to finally meet you in person, Maurine!  You too Harold and the beautiful Odee!  That is one handsom dog!  Kylee, you ROCKED!!! You are a runner chick!!!

As a side note- Kylee, my sister-in-law came with us today in honor of her mother, Arelene Pommerville, who battled breast cancer for 17 years and passed away last October.  She was a remarkable person who never gave up.  Our team name this year was in honor of her-

We will NEVER shrink,

We will NEVER quit,

We will NEVER SURRENDER!!!

All of our love goes to Arelene's 11 children and her sweet husband who ALL loved her and made her life the most amazing thing!
