I started running in May of 2006 while losing 85 lbs after my youngest was born.  I have 6 fantastic kids, 3 girls and 3 boys and a wonderful husband.  My oldest is in college and my baby is in pre-school. (Six kids in 5 schools ;)

Ouch, ouch, ouch...

"Every step you take, every move you make..."

I told myself this morning than I only have 2 more super sore days in the near future, the 20 miler on the 23rd and the Marthon on the 13th of June.  I can handle it.  17 miles did not do this to me, but apparently ONE more lousy mile puts me over my magic "pain" threshold.  Every one who reads this and comments, must start their comment with "WIMP!!!!"

My sweet parents threw a surprise party for me last night at their home.  Dinner was of course amazing and it was so fun to see my friends and family.  Needless to say, I am SO tired from staying up WAY too late.  It is going to be major nap time after Stake Conference today.  I'd better go get some grub.  I was up 6.4 lbs this morning.  YIKES!!  Sore legs sure weigh a TON!!! ;)

Have a BEAUTIFUL Sunday.  I am going to really soak it in :D

Went on a nice walk with the kids while David napped.  Then I napped while they all ran around screaming and having tickle wars ;)

"Not quite EVERY step I take, Not quite EVERY move I make..."

I took some Aleve last night so I could sleep a bit better and it helped.  This morning I did not screech with every step down stairs.  Yesterday was pretty funny.  We had a wet bed that needed some attention, so I was carrying the laundry basket downstairs and created a traffic jam.  Some kids were trying to get up the stairs and others down, and there was Mom, crying on the stairs with a huge basket of bedding taking 25 minutes to traverse the stairs.  Oh, and along with the tears of exhaustion and frustration were involuntary shouts of "OUCH" with each step.  Good times!!!   Ashley (14) asked, "What's wrong with you????"  (Please add teenager "tone")

I am planning on a long walk this evening with David, maybe one after school too, ALONE or with the little boys.  Even they are faster than I am at the moment ;)

Happy Monday!!!

PS- I am really OK- Smooth and Maurine emailed me some GREAT encouragement and advice- THANKS ladies!!  I will write you back when I get home after lunch :)

I am HEALED!!!  It is a Festivus Miracle!!!  Let the airing of the grievances begin!! ;)

Anyway- I got up and could walk with my "normal" morning legs :D  I even could walk down the stairs with only a titch of remnant aches. :)  YIPPEE!!!  You all said I'd get better, and I did :D

I was just going to go for a walk, but the legs felt fine and so I ran.  I had a few steep down hill sections that I walked, just for the quads sake.  For the last mile and a half, the right quad was present, but not really to whiny ;)

I took Will in the jogger stroller and that was HARD.  The legs felt fine, but the cardio was tough, as much of the run was up hill with a head wind.  The temperature was BEAUTIFUL.  I am so happy it is Spring today :)  I am so glad that I am not broken :D

Still healed, but NO ZIP ;D

Lori Metcalf (MetcalfRunning) would love to host a Post Ogden Party at her home.  Anyone game?  She lives about 10-15 minutes from the end of the race.  She can also arrange a restaurant possibly, if that is preferable :)  Isn't Lori the BEST!!! :)  THANKS LORI!!!

I am devastated!!!  I spaced Hobble Creek 1/2 registration :(  It is full :(

Another zip-less day ;) but I am good with that.  I really love running and I REALLY love this weather and I REALLY REALLY love that my legs are okee-dokee, slow, but okee-dokee :)  I am going to survive this marathon training, probably ;)

Now that I know that I am not permanently broken, I will plan on 5 for tomorrow and 12 for Saturday.  Next week I will do 6,5,4,3,2, Ogden 1/2.  Next week will be dependent on how the 12 goes on Saturday, of course.

Lot's of love!! XOXOXOXOXO  I am SO happy it is WARM!!!

Very long story short, but we had a MAJOR miracle and did not DIE this morning!!!  Here goes:

Miracle #1  The young womens leader who was supposed to make the English Toffee Popcorn has never done it before so I said I would do it for her last night.

Miracle #2  I decided to speed up the rising of the raspberry cinnamon rolls by putting them in the oven at 5:30 am.  Thought I smelled some gas, but figured it was the popcorn?

Miracle #3 I decided to go back to bed and run after the girls did their fundraiser

Miracle #4  Becasue the chocolate would not harden on the popcorn, we had all of the windows open in the kitchen ALL NIGHT

Mracle #5 Kate closed the windows about 7 am

Miracle #6 Ashley and I ran a 10 minute errand at 7:30

Miracle #7 Did not get distracted with the Young Woman and came straight home to find the house FILLED with gas!!!!

What was going to happen-- I was going to go running for 2.5+ hours at 6am and my kids would have never noticed the gas.  Kate would have shut the windows and no one would have noticed the gas.  If we haddn't had the windows opened all night long we every well might have not woken up to have today anyway.

I, of course, tried to shut off the gas and could not- the gas guy came and fixed us all up.  Well, actually the stove is pretty bad off, so we are stove-less, but David's birthday is Tuesday so HE can get a new stove for his birthday :)  (I don't want a stove for Mother's Day ;)  The gas guy said they evacuate when there is a 1% reading.  It was 19% by the stove :(

My run was OK- I was pretty tired and my toe was driving me NUTS!!  I drank the Gatorade Endurance Maurine gave me at mile 3,6,8,10(1/2),11(1/2)  I ate shot blocks at 6 and gu at ~8.5.  Thanks Maurine :)
